10 Things Every Parent Should Remember
1. Your child has probably replayed the game in their head before you even start the car.
2. The first question you ask often becomes the moment they remember.
3. Sometimes the best conversation is no conversation at all. Give them time to process.
4. Celebrate their effort before you talk about their performance.
5. Let the coach do the coaching. Your job is to be their safe place.
6. Wins don't need to become bigger, and losses don't need to become smaller. Let both be real.
7. Listen more than you speak. Children often tell us exactly what they need if we don't rush to respond.
8. Never let one game become their identity. Today was something they experienced, not who they are.
9. End every ride home with encouragement. Every child should leave the car knowing they're loved regardless of the outcome.
10. Years from now, they probably won't remember the score. They'll remember who was sitting in the driver's seat.
